Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God, who gave his life for the redemption of mankind. He suffered at Gethsemane and died on Calvary and rose on the third day to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of all mankind. His Church and the fullness of his Gospel have been restored on the earth. Through faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, covenant keeping with God, and enduring to the end, we will find peace and joy, for by His grace you are saved, after all you can do.
I believe!
The past 13 years have been incredibly hard since my husband resigned his membership and is still very against the church. I used to be very Orthodox, to the point of being a "Molly Mormon." We have stayed together and are just messy in this but are a great match in everything else. He is a good man who has legitimate issues and scars from church. I miss my certainy, I feel like how Adam and Eve must have longed for the garden and their past lives, especially when the world was especially lone and dreary. But hopefully like them, it's progress in my life, even when my faith journey is got tons of dips and drops, that the whole is generally an upward direction. It's HARD and had stretched my faith more than anything else. I know we have Heavenly Parents and an Older Brother who love us unconditionally and see us as we truly are, even though I forget it sometimes. I know how protective I feel over several family members who have left the church and aren't "choosing the right" and how I cheer for them ANY time they make any positive changes in their lives (doesn't even have to be church related at all) I love them fiercely, and that has given me the smallest taste of what our Parents feel for us. There are very few things I know, there are a few more I believe, and there is SO much in this gospel that I hope for.
So much of living the gospel has contributed to a better life for me and for others in the world, even when I don't see the immediate value of one of our beliefs or practices. I am convinced that God wants me in this church and that he wants all to enjoy the blessings of it too. When backed up to the wall of faith, I can confidently state that God has spoken to me through the holy spirit, telling me to come follow him in this church.
I’m a lifelong member who has been active and less active. My wife and I were married civilly before being sealed a few years later because we weren’t ready at the time. I learned that there was a difference in our marriage between the two. We always had a loving marriage and we’re going to fight to make it work but being sealed brought a new feeling into our family. I’m grateful we saw that. The times I was less active I didn’t think it mattered if I was at church or not. I still believed but then the Lord subtlety showed me that when I was keeping the commands and attending church I had more peace in my life, I made better decisions and was a better person. That change me for the better and I have been active since. I’ve not seen angels or God but I’ve had enough experiences to know He lives and that He cares about me - and my neighbor. So I do my best now to be a good disciple of Christ.
Jesus is alive.
I could go on at length, but I'll try to keep this short. Certain scriptures mention a spiritual gift of knowing (or something to that effect). I have this gift. I've had it since I was fairly young. When I prayed about the Book of Mormon around 18 or 19 years old, my response was a clear voice asking why I would ask when I already knew the answer. It was correct. I was trying to go through a motion most LDS people go through as some point, except I wasn't doing it sincerely, precisely because I already knew. This doesn't mean I have a perfect testimony. Some years ago I realized that I was focused far too much on the Father and too little on Jesus Christ. So I started studying Christ more specifically, developing a relationship with him. I know a lot about scripture, doctrine, the Church, and the history of Christianity and Judaism, but I'm still learning. The primary reason I even bother visiting this sub is to help others. I'm extremely introverted. I hate drama, and a lot of the questions involve significant drama. I'd love to leave and never come back, but the vast majority of the time, when I write well thought out replies based in scripture, doctrine, and modern prophets, the Spirit tells me that helping people here is something the Lord wants me to do. So I do it, even when it is hard. I hope I'm helping. I know I'm not perfect, and I've occasionally gotten sucked into to stupid arguments, but that reminder from the Spirit is what keeps me here, trying to help people with pure doctrine where I can. And honestly, I appreciate the opportunity. Anyhow, I said I'd keep it short, and I think I might have already failed. The important part is that I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Jesus Christ's church that he leads, Joseph Smith Jr. was a prophet called of God to restore it, and its teachings and doctrine and true and good. And I hope that helps someone, since that is still the only reason I stick around here!
I may have gone through a faith crisis and my connection with Jesus Christ has been lost, but I intend to continue on in faith until it rekindles. I love being a members of this church. I belong, people like me belong, I believe the gold plates are real and Joseph Smith truly translated them by the power of God. The church is everything it says it is. Prophets are chosen to lead us. President Dallin H Oaks is meant to be our prophet right now. I look up to him and admire him. I love the temple. It is a place close to the Spirit World. Before I came to this world, I was likely shown what my life would entail, and I was excited to experience it all. My faith crisis may have changed how I view myself and my beliefs but I will never ever leave the church. It is true, meaning it is truly Christ’s restored church. Thank you for this sub, (it’s funny to be able to testify about a sub reddit) it allowed me to express my unorthodox beliefs without banning me. I admire the work you all do in making sure comments are hidden that cross boundaries about challenging church doctrine without making people feel they aren’t welcome. Much love. I would recommend this sub to anyone investigating the church and know they are in good hands to see the church in the light I want it portrayed as, that it’s good.
I believe in God. I believe in a just God. I believe my idea of justice has significant and serious deviations from what God believes is just. I believe if I put my ideas of justice onto God, then I make a god out of myself. That is pride and idolatry. I believe that Jesus of Nazareth was the promised Messiah. That he was born of Mary by the Spirit as written in scripture. That he taught us to Love God and Love each other. He was killed for that teaching. I believe he rose from the dead and lives on the right hand of God. I believe the young prophet Joseph had an encounter in a grove. I’m not going to say what happened in that grove, but I believe it happened. I believe that scripture is given for us to learn from. That is enough for now.
Jesus is real, and is the Savior, he called Joseph Smith to be the prophet to open this dispensation and leads his church through his appointed servants.
I know that Christ lives. The experiences I've had have shown me beyond the point where I could deny that I know He lives and the Church is true. I feel I had to put everything on the line, but Christ was there.
As a child, I believed what my parents believed. I absorbed what my Sunday School teachers told me. As I got older, I found that the church had reasonable answers to difficult questions. I had a few experiences with answered prayers, inspiration, and serendipitous circumstances that helped me recognize the reality of God. But then I found some of the cracks in the walls of the church, and as I followed them down I found some cracks in the foundation. I have significant doubts about the church, but I know it has helped me and continues to help me to be a better person. I have distilled my testimony to what I actually know/believe, and it is down to a few essentials, in descending order of confidence: There is a Divine presence that has a loving interest and influence in our lives - I have felt it and cannot deny; I believe the Book of Mormon is an actual inspired translation of a real record of a real people, though that doesn't mean that everything within it is strictly true - just true according to their understanding; I believe in the atonement of Christ. I am currently trying to reconcile contradictory scriptural claims of the priesthood and my own experiences. And, there are some aspects of current church teachings that I am confident are incorrect. But the church is still a generally helpful place where people can learn, grow, and develop that connection with the loving Divine which will help their lives and the lives of those they interact with be better, and that's a very good thing.
I love everything about the church that helps me feel close to Jesus.
I've had enough revelatory experiences that my testimony in this work has moved from faith to knowledge. It truly is the Church of Jesus Christ. He lives and leads this church. President Oaks is a prophet of God. The scriptures are the word of God.
The Book of Mormon is both spiritually and intellectually convincing to me, and is why I stayed in the Church and why I know that Jesus Christ lived and Lives! He is my personal Savior. He knows me. He loves me. And if this is true, if He is a moral being then He loves everyone, regardless. This is particularly beautiful to me and I try to live so others can find Jesus. Joseph Smith is a prophet, and Dallin H Oaks and all those in between. They receive revelation from God - I believe some of them may have seen Jesus, just by how they bear testimony. I am grateful for the Church and for the knowledge of the Olan of Salvation and things as they are. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen
I believe in the atonement of Jesus Christ - I believe he is the path home for each of us - I believe loving the standards the church has set out for us is truly a path to happiness
When all the evidence is weighed, and all the options are on the table, faith and belief and consecration is a choice. I'm glad it's a choice instead of crystal clear, because then I can, of my own free will, choose to follow God, not because I'm forced to or compelled. Following God as a choice makes me happy and brings me peace, and dedicating my life to serving others (as he directs) makes the world a better place.
Belief is a hard thing more me. I know there's a lot I'd like to see instead of taking solely on faith and hope. There are differences I don't understand, especially when I see what I view as hypocrisy amongst members (notably in political discourse), but also in things like literal vs storied belief. And still, I go to Church. It's a place to draw closer to my Father and become someone who is more Christ-like because I must practice those virtues to stay a member. I believe God created this world. I believe that understanding it draws me closer to Him. It often seems the more I learn, the more I understand that I cannot be perfect without His Son and the sacrifices He made. Imperfect as it all is, there's no place I'd rather be at the end of the day. It's home.
I am so grateful to have heard the gospel from a friend. I have seen my life transform, and I know I would not be where I am now if it weren’t for the restored gospel.
The church is true
The sealing power is real.
I just had my first baby, and it has really strengthened my testimony and given me a new perspective on what it means to be a child of God. When I look at her, I just think about her being a daughter of our heavenly father, and how much he loves her. I am looking forward to sharing my faith, testimony, and church experiences with her. I’m grateful she has the church community to grow up in.
Jesus is great. I love Him. The Church is doing its best, and I'm still waiting on the rest of that Restoration. My heart sorrows for those who cannot, or feel that they are unwelcome. I'm grateful for the knowledge I have of the plan of salvation. I'm grateful for Grace, and how it carries me through.
Book is blue, church is true. Keep it up.
I truly believe that this is the best and truest way to live. There is so much good out there that we can learn from, but the best foundation is here. If we sincerely follow the restored gospel I have faith that our lives will have more true joy than through any other path.
I love the Gospel! I'm so grateful for the Church and I've benefited so much from its people. I love my Jesus.
My spouse is a recent convert. This has been a positive change for him. He was a great husband and father before, but his LDS membership has led to a stronger focus on those roles, and I like how he is developing. He's not perfect! But it's good. I say this as a never Mormon who was very anxious about his conversion. I'm still practicing the faith we used to share, and I wish we still shared it. I still have anxiety about that. But so far, it's been ok.
Jesus loves us. Jesus loves ME! And Jesus loves YOU! Yes, YOU! And with His help we can get through anything in this life. That’s all we really need to know. Everything we do in the church should lead back to that. Can you tell I’ve taught primary for 20 years? lol!
I believe the Book of Mormon is an ancient historical record, and I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet who was given priesthood authority to restore and organize the church (This, by the way, is more or less what I consider to be orthodoxy, and so I consider myself to be orthodox). I believe that the church today continues to be led by inspired and authorized prophets and apostles. My life is richer, fuller, and more joyful because of the direct and indirect influences of the church and the gospel of Jesus Christ. And because of Jesus Christ, I have hope that I can be with my family forever.
I believe in many parts of the church, but ultimately o believe in it as a community of Christ, and this subreddit has helped me see other believers who are happy to participate despite various levels if orthodoxy and orthopraxy.
The church is true.
The church is true. I've seen God's hand in my life in small and big ways.
God loves me and loves you too.
Like many come I have an interesting Faith journey. There are a lot of things that I still have questions about, a lot of things that I just don't really believe anymore, but I do have a strong testimony of the atonement of Jesus Christ. I have hope in good things to come and I am optimistic about the future
Christ Lives! Christ is our Savior and Brother. The Chirch if Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only church with Preiathood Authority, Prophets and Apostles. And yet, they are still human. They try their best, but the people within the Chirch are not perfect. But they are good people.
It's true! I looked for the true church, and I found it!
I love the happiness I've found in the gospel of Jesus Christ. It's truly a church of joy. My heart aches seeing others struggle. So I try to share my experiences in hopes that it might help another. I know the Lord has a plan for everyone and it brings me such great hope for the future and His return. I know that Jesus lives and I'm grateful for the blessings of the house of the Lord here upon the Earth. In the name of Jesus Christ amen
I know that God is our loving heavenly father, who sent Christ His Son to redeem us from death and sin. As ever, They guide God's people via prophets, including in our day beginning with Joseph Smith
The gospel of Jesus Christ is where we can find peace, fulfillment, purpose, direction, and hope in a very challenging world. A living property is fallible, but also a source of great guidance and wisdom to help us navigate these difficult times.
I have experienced our Heavenly Parents leading me throughout my life. "The Lord gives and takes away, Blessed be the name of the Lord". I have experienced my questions, after I was patient, either being answered or my heart being changed, which gives me strength to face my current questions. I wish I could give everyone the Gospel in their lives! I have a testimony of mothers staying home when possible but also not if directed so by personal revelation. I have a testimony of the Word of Wisdom and how much keeping it has blessed my life. I have a testimony that we are all Spiritual brothers and sisters and have inherent value as humans, just like human parents value and love their babies regardless of their achievements, looks etc. I'm so grateful for the church in my life.
It has been something of a bumpy trip, but I really do believe in the Gospel and the Church despite it all. I certainly have to give r/LatterdaySaints kudos in helping me develop my testimony. I may not be here today without it.
Jesus is my best friend and he is our advocate with the father and our heavenly parents are really hoping we come home.
Jesus Lives!
When I found this community I was deep in the middle of a faith crisis that almost no online LDS resource could help me with. I happened to be looking up something on google after going to a lot of websites and I found an answer that linked to a post on this sub to which I was completely unaware of as an extant subreddit. I found it was a great way to see a little nuance in church topics - without throwing away belief altogether. I also found it was a great way to exchange questions and answers so that we all get a little closer to the truth together, it feels like a high priests quorum that's a little more on topic and grounded. Anway, to go back to the actual personal testimony, this sub has helped me to build my testimony on spiritual foundations. I am able to put forth my life in faith now so that I am living life the way Christ intended - my testimony is built with spiritual stones (from the Holy Ghost), not physical ones as those are subject to destruction (like an apologetic fact).
It’s all true. It’s good stuff.
Jesus is the way
The Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ has been the force behind all the good in my life, and everything good in my life I owe to the Savior.
I believe that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father live all his children, which is why the Book of Mormon is awesome. It’s evidence that God does care about his children no matter what continent/country you are from. He sees and hears us, even when it feels like He might not. He loves you through everything.
I have struggled with revelation that didn't work out, with tithing paid/job loss, with blessings administered to people who continued to get worse. I don't have great explanations for when it doesn't work out. And, I sometimes tell people that the church can't be true if the people are not true to the leader, Jesus Christ. But, the principles and doctrines that Christ taught and represent are the cornerstone of good probability. It will not always work for every person exactly as indicated. But for most of us and most of the time, it works remarkably well. It is what Alma might call, a successful experiment. If we 'do the doctrine', we can know. It doesn't even require a still small voice. Even when our spiritual senses are unrefined and underdeveloped, the exercise of righteous action can do the job of filling the gaps. That is why I stay put.
I often struggle with my faith but seeing and knowing that other people struggle with the same or similar issues brings me comfort. I am not alone in my struggles. Hearing people who have struggled with the same things testifying helps remind of Christ and how I am not alone.
Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon and is a prophet, therefore the church is true
I have faith in the Book of Mormon, Bible, and other scripture as the word of God. I know Heavenly Father loves us and is real. I know Christ was a real person and believe in His atonement. I believe in saving ordinances. I have many questions and a lot of anxiety, but I place my hope and faith in the fact that God wants what's best for me.
The Atonement is real, the Temple is powerful, the Book of Mormon is the word of God, Smith, Young, Oaks and co. are prophets of God.
I love our Savior and his gospel. It has been the framework of my life. We have 6 grown children 50yrs-35 yrs, and 16 grandchildren. Only 2 of our children are practicing members. 2 others are very Christian, evangelical and orthodox. I have learned over the years to be grateful for their love of the Savior and what we have in common. Still, our lifestyles are quite different, and this has made doing things with our whole family challenging. I trust in the Lord to work out what I cannot change right now. Thank you for all you are doing. You are the main reason I am on Reddit at all.
I'm definitely a less orthodox member than anything, and I definitely feel that I don't belong in the Church's social landscape. Likewise, the outright rancor that Saints are met with makes it feel impossible to want to express that very faith. Notwithstanding this, the Church's complicated history (which, in all honesty, has increased my testimony and my critical thinking skills by studying it), or anything else, I have a firsthand experience of the Church, its scripture and doctrine, and its structure. I know it may be far from perfect, but doesn't change its truth, nor does it change the many positive effects that it has had on my life so far.
I may falter in many aspects, but I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Lord loves me despite my flaws.
The church is true. Without a doubt. It’s also good. Jesus. Is. The. Christ. He is God. The Son of God. The way the truth and the life.
I need to drive home, but if there’s a few things I want to emphasize, is that God is with all of us, and His goodness is everywhere if you look for it. I have a personal testimony that the Atonement is enough to heal our wounds and right the wrongs of this world. All of us are children of God with infinite worth. We are here to grow and to love. Living the gospel and trying to emulate Jesus brings me peace, hope, and it makes me a better person. I am grateful for the amazing truths about us and the world that were restored by Joseph Smith and continue to be restored to this day. We are not alone, we are not our mistakes, and we can keep growing and going as we engage with God and the people around us.
The Church is true and living.
I know that Jesus Christ lives, that He and my Heavenly Father love me, know me, and that I have a purpose on this earth. I know as I develop my relationship with each of them I will be a better version of myself and as I keep my covenants I will continue to strengthen those relationships and one day live with them again.
Simply - I know God lives and loves me. I love Jesus and am so grateful for his atonement. I know the church was restored and it is the only true and living church on the earth today and it is guided by the Savoir thru his prophet....
I’m deeply grateful for my membership in the church and the miracles that have been manifest in my life because of it.
I need saving, so the fact that I have a savior is key to my ability to be okay. I think everybody feels the need sometimes but it's ever-present for me, and I wouldn't survive without the hope the gospel offers. Christ is the one who understands me and who will find a way for me to move forward in spite of the clunky and difficult way I am. The Church is an important piece of how that will work, and the things it teaches and the commitments it asks us to make are opportunities to grow into the potential for happiness God sees in us right now, and has always seen in us. I have faith that the Church is constantly, steadily improving in this regard, and that as it gets closer to perfection, it becomes a better and better light for my own path home.
I hope the gospel is true but I have a hard time believing in it. I live like I believe it because I think it makes me a better person.
I feel a pull back to the covenant path when I have strayed and it never ceases to amaze me that Heavenly Father wants me to come back to Him even when I make stupid, sinful decisions. I don't know if I'll ever fully understand His love for me. I do know that He is real; He hears my prayers. He has helped me find objects I have lost and caused His Holy Spirit to fill my heart. I wish I understood Jesus better. I'm starting to understand that He is responsible for the cleansing of my sins.
Despite all of our imperfections individually and as a people, the Church is exactly what it claims to be. It's that simple.
I believe that God is our Heavenly Father. I believe that He wants us to become like Him. I believe that His plan required sacrifice in order to meet the demands of mercy and justice. I believe that Jesus Christ accepted the responsibility of being that sacrifice and is our Savior. I believe that my responsibility here on Earth is to use this opportunity of walking in darkness to choose to be like Christ. I trust that my Father and my Savior are both interested in my success and support me, but I don't believe in miracles that exceed the level of our faith. It seems that if it were so, the purpose of this life would be subverted. As such, it is up to me to decide that I want to be like Jesus, even if my life experience will not become more miraculous or visibly easier. I know that even the most faithless people can be selfless and joyful. I believe that it is better for someone to live and die in the Church obeying half of the commandments because it is who they have become than for them to leave and obey none of them. I also believe that in the eternal scale of progression, those that obey only some of the commandments because it is who they are have progressed further than those that obey all of the commandments solely because they've been told to. I believe that Heavenly Father will be happy to see each of His children after this life, so we should not draw boundaries during this one. I believe that the highest source of righteousness is the life of Jesus Christ and that anyone, regardless of religion, that is embodying the character of Christ is fulfilling their mortal purpose. I hope to see all of my spirit Brothers and Sisters back in the presence of our Father.
Too many things to put here right now, but thanks for the opportunity! I feel that I express my testimony in my comments, and it always makes me glad to be able to contribute that on this forum. Thank you for making that possible.
I hope that many church doctrines are true. I hope that families are forever. I hope that God loves us. I choose to believe that there’s more to life than being born, living, and dying. I believe that loving your neighbor is vital. I know that serving others is good for the soul - both the giver and receiver.
Struggled (maybe not struggled … existed?) from grace to grace and doubt to doubt as a life long active member until I had a powerful, undeniable spiritual witness.
Dormant. I struggle sometimes to believe that it is all true for me. But I also don't want anything else to be true. I go through he motion, surviving without thriving, and hope that I am doing what is right. It doesn't burn in me like it has in the past but I do believe that God is there and watching me. Sometimes I find guilt for past mistakes impossible to surmount, and sometimes I wish he would take me home sooner so that I wouldn't have to suffer that pain which he doesn't seem to see fit to take away. But I believe in a God who loves me and in a Christ who has and will save me, even though it doesn't always all add up. I have to believe.. where else would I go? I have had a witness of the truth and I will trust that until I learn otherwise 🤷‍♀️
The Savior is real and He has atoned for our sins. This is the Church He has established. As we become better disciples, we will see the world become a better place. It begins with us.
I have a firm testimony of the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, the temple, and tithing. I’m trying to work out the rest.
I guess mines not the kind your looking for. But there was a convert in my childhood ward. He was 60s I think when he joined and he would get up each fast and testimony and say “my testimony is all of you”. And honestly it was such a good ward family. There’s something special about the lds church in low membership density areas that theirs is a the mixing of inner city and rural, more well off and less so members. It was a ward who really cared and served one another. I can remember my dad with the elders quorum re shingling a roof for a poor sister who couldn’t afford it. I remember the sisters preparing meals for people in need blessings that brought comfort to a man with a sick child, so many acts of service and love. I’ve had many opportunities cities my self in this church, my wife was a visiting teacher to a woman who died of cancer we stayed the night with her disabled daughter and played cards with her. It’s little enough but it was something and it was meaningful. My testimony is that there is goodness in this church and especially in the membership and beauty in the way they care for one another.
Lots of good examples of the believers on this subreddit, thanks for keeping a positive space for all
I’ve come to trust in the Savior’s promises more in the past few years as it relates to some of my kids and a few friends who have left the church. He will continue to reach after them—it is the entire story of the Old Testament and the Book of Mormon. We are admonished constantly to remember him but that is because he will never forget us. Christ and his atonement allow me to live in peace and hope.
Jesus Christ Lives! His Atonement is Real! He Died for us all! We will live again because of Him! We can return to our Heavenly Home with our families because of Him! Heavenly Father’s plan truly is a plan of Hope, Happiness, and Peace that can give us strength in such perilous times. The Holy Ghost can and will testify to you of the truthfulness of these things.
Christ is who he says He says He is, did what He said He did, and will help you so long as you tune yourself to Him.
As a teenager, I repented for the first time and I felt a powerful feeling of the Spirit. I knew that Jesus Christ was my Savior and that He had forgiven me. Less dramatic, but in the process of time, I came to know for myself that the Book of Mormon is true and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Jesus Christ's church today. The Spirit is real, and teaches what we must do.
The first seeds of a testimony came in primary. My dad was the teacher and I learned about the plan of salvation and felt the Spirit of God testify to me that it was true . Since that time I have studied church history, the Book of Mormon, served a mission, and have been active in the Church. My testimony has grown considerably. My testimony has been built from my experiences, my knowledge from study, exercising my faith and seeing God intervene in my life, and through the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
Through thick and thin I’m rooted and rooting for all others on this winding, rocky road. To be like our Savior we are here to mourn with those that mourn and celebrate with those who share their wins, no matter how small.
Life is hard. Things look more and more bleak, with prophecy being fulfilled. Wars, civil unrest, widening division, so much black and white thinking with no room for nuance. People's ability to think critically and analyse is being eroded, as is their curiosity, empathy and the desire to use their own brains (thanks AI). With all this bleakness & despite my mental health struggles, I know that things will be okay in the end. I know that our Saviour and Heavenly Parents are real, living, and that they love and know each of us personally. Each day I am blessed with small, tender mercies specific to my needs at the time. I have seen miracles: though they may be small, they are the world to me. I know that God's plan of Happiness is real. I know that we will all be where we are most happy in the end. I also know that all of our emotions are important - 'negative' emotions serve a great duty to us in recognising injustice and driving us to serve, recognising dangerous situations, developing empathy and being there for those who are struggling. We are here to learn to be more like our Heavenly Parents, and part of that is learning how to express our emotions in healthy and productive ways. Even the Saviour who is perfect felt fear and anger and pain. Above all, I know that we are so beloved. I know that the gospel of Christ is true, and that we are lead by living prophets. I am rambling, sorry. But thank you for the opportunity to ponder my testimony.
I know that Christ lives and directs His church. I know that each of the apostles were called by Him to be prophets, seers and revelators. I love the scriptures and how they bring me to Christ and invite me to understand my covenants and how I can keep them better. I appreciate that there's this faith-based online community where people can share their opinions and beliefs and experiences in a way that uplifts those involved, and I see it as a sort of fulfilling of the commandment to let our words tend to edifying one another. I haven't participated in the community for a few years, just because I haven't participated in reddit at all for a few years, but if there's one redeeming quality of reddit, it's this congregation of saints and friends looking out for one another. Y'all are letting your light shine by maintaining this place.
I believe in goodness - that humans have the opportunity and obligation to be good and do good. I believe that we are all better off when we try to help each other. I am disappointed with societal trends towards greed and corruption and believe that societies and groups including churches can be a force for good in society if they choose to be. I hope that I can do my part to make the world a little better. I believe that taxes should be fair and easy to file. Last but not least, I believe that it's my bedtime.
I’m a convert of six months. I was raised Pentecostal but ended up nonreligious as a teenager and young adult. In college I began searching for a church. I tried the Baptist Campus Ministry, I tried Catholic mass, I even went to a synagogue. But I was familiar with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because of some YouTubers I grew up watching. I always admired their family dynamic, especially since I was an only child in a small family. I just felt like that’s how things SHOULD be. Fast forward a couple years post-undergrad and I met a boy. He and his dad were members, and I was always appreciative of how kindly his dad treated me. “Ye shall know them by their fruit.” I started reading the Book of Mormon just out of curiosity. I heard what I believe to have been the still small voice of God calling me out for my doubts. I heard Him say, “who are you to doubt that the creator of the universe could send His only son to the Americas?” So, that was the beginning of my conversion. Fast forward again a few years. I had been researching for a while and decided to contact the Missionaries. Long story short, I was baptized in November 2025.
Faith in God the Father, his son, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost, has carried me through my life. I first heard the Spirit speak directly to me as a young boy in a recognizable way. I observed my mother reading scripture on a lazy morning. I am a curious person, so naturally I picked up her book and began to read. A new world opened for me. Since that first day, the Lord has been there for me, spoken to me through the Spirit, and shown me who he wants me to be. My grandmother spoke of 2 boys bringing the gospel to her door in a dream. My family became the first members, creating a branch, through them. I too had a dream leading me to my future family. My parents were sealed in the Salt Lake temple, long before I was born. A story in itself. I too was married and sealed in the same temple, by the son of my parents sealer of the same name. I married a woman by the same name as my mother, who's journey was much the same as my own. We met through the written mail, from 1600 miles apart. Because of my dream, I knew her before I saw her letter. The Lord loves me, even as all of us. We each must learn of him and know him. He wants to show us the way, if we will hear him. I love him with all that I am.
I know I am a child of God. I love heavenly Father and Jesus I have a beautiful life due to the gospel
I know God is my Father in heaven and I know Jesus is the Christ. I’m grateful for their daily support because life can be hard sometimes all the time. I know he’s proud of my efforts and loving and encouraging me even in my weakness.
I just know that my Redeemer lives, that this is His church, that He's leading it and will continue to do so forever. It's not perfect (yet) and neither am I, so I guess that tracks. I'm grateful for my Savior's atoning sacrifice--deeply, eternally grateful, and for the very real effects it has on human lives--mine and those of those I have witnessed repent and change for the better. I am grateful that God sends prophets to teach us and point us to Him, to teach us His word and help us know Him better. I love Him with everything that I have and am.
I know that Christ lives and knows each of us personally. He suffered and died so that we might live again and return to live with our Heavenly Parents. Faith in him has completely changed my life. My life is a dream compared to what I thought it was going to be, thanks to Christ and his Church.
I've been visited by deceased angelic ministers and I've seen some pretty impressive miracles with my own eyes but nothing has been a more powerful witness to me than the revelations and influence of the Holy Ghost in my life. Not only do I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the literal kingdom of God on Earth, I know He actively participates in its operation on many levels. The Church is led by legitimate prophets, some of whom I know and many of whom I've interacted with, and they are some of the most humble, sincere, and Christlike men and women to be found among God's children. The Book of Mormon is what Joseph Smith claimed it is and Joseph Smith is a prophet of the Lord. I know these things by experience, observation, and revelation.
I've shared my testimony frequently in this sub and I'm always happy to do so. I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe that He is real and living. I believe that He is my Savior. I believe that through His Atonement, He has changed me and has the power to offer me salvation. He is my hope and my joy. I will trust in Him and love Him forever. I have experienced Him in greater measure through my covenants made in His house. I am humbled to bear His sacred name.
Studying the scriptures this year while teaching youth and then an adult Sunday School class has been incredibly edifying, and it's been cool to see our discussions improve over time. The effect on my life has been wonderful, and I hope it's the same for the members of my ward. Also, my ward is very focused on Christ, and I can feel the difference from past wards--talking of, rejoicing in, and preaching of Christ really makes a difference.
I am very thankful to have a God given testimony. The Book of Mormon and the teachings of the prophets has been the source of many blessing in my life. I want to help others gain or increase their testimonies.
Jesus is my Savior and friend. The plan of Salvation and Happiness allows us to return to our Heavenly Parents who love us dearly. We are here to learn, grow, and repent, learning to trust and become like Jesus in covenant relationship with him.
I know that God lives because everything they have promised has come through. I know I am a child of God because of how they treat me. I know that Joseph Smith revealed restored truths because no paradigm other than an eternal identity of man makes sense of Jesus' sacrifice. The Church isn't perfect. It does bad things sometimes. But on balance, I believe it does good in general, and for me I'm specific. I'm looking forward to more restoration.
In brief, that the way we build church culture, as much as some people like to say it isn't as important as the atonement or the restoration or whatever, is actually what allows us to put those other things into action. So my testimony is that yeah, there are questions of deity and eternity and salvation, but the here and now is people, and what we do together, and that is a worthy focus.
I believe in love. I believe in truth. I believe in honesty. I believe in transparency. I believe in the importance of genuine human interaction and community. I believe in the importance of trying to communicate with and understand people who we don't agree with. Amen
God is there. Especially when it feels like He isn't.
I know the church is true. Throughout all my struggles this one truth remains when everything else inside and outside of me seems to change. I know we came from somewhere I know we are going somewhere and I know the Lord loves us and this is His one true church. ITNOJesus Christ, Amen.
I believe the Gospel to be true, and this subreddit is a cool builder of my testimony. The faithful subreddit, that is welcoming and inclusive while being faithful, is the only subreddit that i can interact with then actually feel the spirit more than when I got on. Christ lives, and cares. He even cares about what we do online, and I think he smiles on this subreddit. Anyway, God lives. He loves us. He's real. And he gave us this church to reach him. The church isn't perfect, but it never had to be perfect to be true. God bless! You are loved!
I know that God is our Father. I know that Jesus Christ is it Savior. I know that the Gospel was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that the Book of Mormon is true.
Sorry, I have my toddler in my lap rn. Thanks for the time. I love the Lord!
I cannot identify a clear spiritual witness in my life in the way I often hear other people describe it. For a long time, I thought that meant (at best) that God didn't exist or (at worst) that God was an abusive, gaslighting father. Over time, I’ve had to become okay with the idea that my faith may not look like someone else’s. I choose to believe because I’ve looked at the principles of the gospel and I’ve seen the fruit of them. I’ve seen that agency matters. I’ve seen repentance change people. I’ve seen that accountability, service, boundaries, forgiveness, and covenant relationships lead to healthier and more meaningful lives. I’ve seen the way the gospel calls people upward. I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe He is compassionate, patient, and interested in our actual lives. I believe discipleship is meant to transform us, not shrink us. I believe the Church contains truth and divine authority, and I also believe culture and human interpretation sometimes become tangled in with doctrine. Learning to separate those things has strengthened rather than weakened my faith. I still question, think, and wrestle. But I no longer see that as the opposite of faith. My testimony is not built on certainty or on being able to point to a spiritual confirmation. It is built on choosing to trust Christ, to live the principles, and to move forward hoping that understanding may come later.
I'll keep it short. I know God loves us personally and individually. Having a space to share this love via this sub has been an amazing experience.
We're in a military ward overseas. Have been in different ones in different countries for the last 20 years. The gospel is always a constant in our ever changeing life. The meeting houses change, the people we share the building with change, our commute to chruch or the temple (if possible) changes, but the principles and gospel stays the same.
The church rings true. It makes sense. I've had many witnesses from the Spirit. I hope I don't push your boundaries too much - I have many frustrations with church culture and some other things. But I have learned that the church doesn't have to be perfect or complete in order to still be God's official church.
My faith has become quite liberal over the last few years. I believe in a loving God and Savior, Jesus Christ. I believe that their love and mercy is greater than we can possibly imagine. My job on earth is not to judge or condemn people, but to love them and show them the love of God. Jesus sought out and loved those different than Him, and so will I.
This sub has on multiple occasions help my testimony increase, if by nothing more then showing that the wide variety of beliefs on various topics or subjects pales in the shared common view that Jesus Christ is the center of all our perspectives. Doesn’t matter if I beleive in progression between kingdoms or whether the earth is 6000 years old. What matters is that we can all come together with a shared understanding and love for the restored gospel and Christ at the center of it.
Too much to write here, but suffice to say, the gospel of Jesus Christ has made my life into so much more than it would ever be without it.
I know this Gospel and Church is true because I have seen Priesthood Power work in real time. I've been a firsthand witness to the efficacy of Priesthood Power. Joseph Smith was and is a Prophet. Dallin H. Oaks is a Prophet, as are the 16 in between. The Book Of Mormon is true. It is being played out in our day in real time. And Jesus Christ lives and will return (hopefully soon).
